Recently, a special historical object has been discovered, namely a plate with the names of fallen Allied soldiers. In the autumn of 1944 there was fierce fighting in the area of Nispen and Roosendaal. The killed soldiers were temporarily buried in the Nigtestraat, Nispen. Out of gratitude and respect, the local residents posted 'R.I.P.' and 'They fell for our deliverance' around the names of these liberators. According to experts, the sign will no longer be readable in a number of years. That is why we support Heemkundekring 'De Heerlijckheijd' in the crowdfunding to conserve this sign (to prevent further decay). For this we need your help! You can leave your donation (anonymously) via the link below, which will be deposited directly to the Heemkundekring. When the measures allow it, there will be a viewing day on which all donors and enthusiasts can come and view the plate and stories of the fallen.
On behalf of the Heemkundekring Nispen and The Dutch Polar Bears: thank you in advance!
