Private Charles Henry Percival was born in 1920 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, the oldest son of Charles Henry Percival and Gertrude Lillian Nash. His mother sadly died in 1927, 10 days after giving birth to his brother George. Charles married Margaret Smithurst in 1943.

Private Charles Henry Percival died of wounds on 01/11/1944. As he is burried at Schoonselhof cemetery, a theory is that he must have been taken to a field hospital away from the battlefield closer to Antwerp. However this is a hypothesis not based on certainty or established facts.
