When Cyril Walters was born in October 1915 in Neath, Glamorgan, his father, William, was 26 and his mother, Mary, was 28. He married in January 1941 in Rugby, Warwickshire. He had one child during his marriage. He died as a young father on 31 October 1944 in Nispen, The Netherlands at the age of 29.

Lieutenant Walters was first buried in a field grave at Zandstraat (source picture) , 2910 Essen (Belgium) and then reburied in the cemetery of Geel (Belgium).
